Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information OneDayHero collects when you join our pre-launch mailing list, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We only ask for what we need, and we will never sell your data.
1Who we are
OneDayHero is a brand operated by Clinton Services, a business based in the United Kingdom and run by Kaine Varley. We are in the process of incorporating as Clinton Services Ltd and will update this policy with our registered company number once that completes. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller of the information described here.
You can write to us at Clifford House, 17 Regent Street, Pocklington, YO42 2QN.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your personal data, you can contact us at privacy [at] onedayhero.com.
2What we collect
When you sign up on our holding page, we collect:
- Your email address — so we can let you know when we launch.
- Your first name — so we can address our emails to you personally.
- The fact and time of your consent — recorded when you tick the box and confirm your email.
That is everything. We do not use tracking or profiling tools on this page. The sign-up form is protected from automated abuse by a hidden "honeypot" field, which collects nothing about you.
3How we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details for one purpose: to send you launch and early-access updates about OneDayHero. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box and confirming your email address (double opt-in). You can withdraw that consent at any time — every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email us.
4Who we share it with
We do not sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing. We use trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
- EmailOctopus — our email platform, which stores your details and sends our emails. See the EmailOctopus privacy policy.
- Microsoft Azure (Static Web Apps) — hosts and serves this website.
5International transfers
Some of these providers may process your data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements or Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place to protect it, as required by UK data protection law.
6How long we keep it
We keep your details only for as long as you stay subscribed to the pre-launch list. If you unsubscribe, or if we decide not to proceed with launch, we will delete your details from our active mailing list. You can ask us to remove your data sooner at any time.
7Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong;
- ask us to delete it;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- object to or restrict how we use it.
To exercise any of these, email us at privacy [at] onedayhero.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers — which is why you have not been asked to accept any. Our sign-up form is protected by a hidden "honeypot" field rather than a captcha, so nothing is loaded from a third party to check that you are human.
The one thing we do load from outside is our typefaces, from Google Fonts. That sets no cookies, though it does mean Google sees your IP address when the fonts load.
9Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will let subscribers know by email.
